Chapter 04

The Naivasha Highway

Mounted on Malik’s heavy-duty motorcycle, the team navigated severe gridlock along the Naivasha Expressway. Pitch darkness engulfed the countryside as light rain began falling across the Limuru hills. Vehicle headlights formed glowing orange ribbons across the wet asphalt.

Salim, a skilled motorcycle courier, joined their convoy bringing tactical intelligence regarding armed checkpoints established by Imara Security. Imara Security was a private mercenary firm secretly owned by Mbevi, instructed to intercept any independent engineers heading toward regional substations.

En route, they received a desperate radio distress call from medical personnel at Kenyatta National Hospital and Naivasha Referral Facility.

Main backup diesel generators were failing under continuous load. The lives of newborn infants in incubators and surgery patients hung in the balance, forcing an immediate tactical detour.
